On Your Wall

Some of my HIDDENS prints are on display this forthcoming weekend as part of Leeds Met Gallery’s On Your Wall event, an exhibition & art sale featuring the work of 25 carefully selected artists (or should that read 24 artists... plus me?).

There will be an opening drinks event taking place this Friday 3rd July, 5 til 7pm. I will be there, feel free to come and join me.

The event continues over Sat 4th - Sun 5th, 12-4pm each day.

Landscrapes!

Here's something I've been working on over the past week which I think is now just about done.

Hopefully this won't destroy the horizontal scroll of my Blog!

No plans to screenprint this, as it will form the banner and a couple of other elements for my new website. I'm enjoying putting together, actually, it's quite fun to be doing something a bit different and brushing up on my XHTML and CSS skills.

Portsmouth Poster Roast

Portsmouth will be home to another of the UK's reknowned band, beer & poster events: POSTER ROAST.

My work will be on show along with sterling work from the UK's usual suspects.

If you are Portsmouth based or nearby, head down and enjoy the festivities (which I believe includes a burlesque act):

Saturday 27th June- Fat Fox, Albert Rd, Portsmouth.

BEEF STOCK FEST

Poster I finished up over the weekend for a punk rock alldayer taking place in Wakey:

Wakefield is a Yorkshire industrial town, and as such I went with appropriate subject matter. I am not suggesting Wakey is grimey or overly polluted.

The plan here was to try and convey everything I wanted as simply as possible, using only shapes and textures. Part way through the design I started adding some halftones but realised that in doing so I was straying from my mission objective! I'm pleased at how simple this has come out although there's still a part of me that desperately wants to embellish it with ghosts and keys and creatures...

Not sure if I will screenprint this one yet but I may do if there's some interest.

I would like to work on this further, adding perhaps layers of ground underneath and making into an art print.

Oh, and for those interested - tickets are £17.50 and you can purchase them here: BEEFSTOCK TICKETS
